Mammooty is back to track to collections with his latest movie The Great Father. In less than two weeks of its release, the makers has released another film of his Puthan Panam. This movie is also getting very good reviews from the audience. The buzz for this movie is not high and the release was also not planned properly. This movie is directed by Ranjith and this is their another collaboration after 4 years. Mammooty is said to have excelled in his role in the movie and entertained the audience.

Puthan Panam which released in nearly 140 screens is expected to collect Rs 2 Crores on its first day. There were only few fan shows on the first day of its release. Also, the movie is released in mid-week which also effected the collections. Puthan Panam has not broke any first day box office collection record of Mollywood films. Mammooty holds the record for the record of first day highest grossing movie for The Great Father. This is a decent collection for the movie and looking forward for Rs 10 Crores at the end of this week.

The movie is based on the latest surgical strike by Government of India on currency. The movie captures the chaos of working class people due to demonetization and the helplessness of rich people with loads and loads of useless currency. Ranjith and PV Shaji Kumar has penned the dialogues in the movie. Manoj Kannath has done the editing and cinematography is handled by Om Prakash.
